“I knew exactly what I needed, I just had to bring it to life.”

Hi, I'm Nilay, and if you've ever pole danced yourself, you know how intense and personal it can feel. For me, pole dancing has never been just one thing. Sometimes it's powerful and playful, other times soft or dreamy. But what it always is: a way to come home to my body.

I've always been drawn to dance. As a child, I dreamed of ballet and belly dancing, but I was never allowed to do either. Later, I tried hip-hop and dancehall, but I couldn't find my niche. I longed for something sexy, yet also allowed for emotion and elegance. Through a chance encounter at work, I stumbled upon a pole dancing studio, and from the very first lesson, I knew: this is it. This is where I belong.

Still, it didn't come naturally. I lacked strength, barely understood the techniques, and found it truly difficult. But I kept coming back. Gradually, I noticed how pole dancing made me stronger and refined my technique.

I slowly grew. Not just physically, but mentally as well. Pole dancing gave me confidence in my body, my perseverance, and my feelings. I learned that I can express myself in so many ways: sensitively, dreamily, sensually, powerfully. And that all these sides are allowed to exist; in this community, I found that space.

But the clothes I was wearing lacked that same feeling. Too revealing, too flashy, too little support or subtlety. I was always searching for outfits that matched my vision: pole dancing as something versatile, intimate, and expressive. I wanted clothes that helped you be yourself, not to challenge you or hide you, but to support you in how you want to move.

So I started designing. Not as a fashion designer, because I'm not, but as a dancer with a passion. My first sketches were simple and amateurish, but they came straight from the heart. Without a big budget, with trial and error, and sometimes a lot of frustration. But I didn't give up. Because I knew: this is necessary.

I still believe in that same principle: growth doesn't just come from success, but from discomfort. From continuing to show up, even when it feels difficult.
